The members of WEEVA would like to wish a warm welcome to the Honourable Catherine McKenna, M.P. as Minister of Environment and Climate Change. We have confidence that the new Minister will recognize the role electric vehicles can play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Canada and make support for EVs part of a comprehensive approach to combatting climate change by the Federal Government.

A recent survey of WEEVA members showed that we have an average mileage of over 24,000 electric kilometers driven per vehicle. That brings our total electric distance traveled to over 1 million kilometers! Compared with traditional gas powered vehicles, this represents 280,000 kg of CO2 emissions which were avoided from entering the atmosphere. This shows that EV drivers can and do make a difference!
